In 2002, at the personal request of Igor Sechin, the then head of Putin's deputy administration, Shelomov was hired by the state shipping company Sovcomflot owned by Acceptance. Acceptance also owns 8.4 percent of Bank Rossiya,which belongs to Putin's friends Kovalchuk, Shamalov and Timchenko, and 12.47 percent of Russia's largest insurance company, Sogaz.
